Hamburger Buns in the Bread Machine

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg divided
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/8 teaspoons bread machine yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients pan of the bread machine in the order according to your bread machine. Select the dough cycle, and press start. When the cycle has finished, transfer the dough to a floured surface. Using a dough scraper, cut the dough into 6. Form each piece into a ball and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with extra egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cover; allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven; transfer to wire rack to cool.
  • Yield: 6 large regular-sized hamburger buns.
